There were a lot of rumours about X-Files sequel for years nad now producer Frank Spotnitz made an announcement on his own blog and said “A script is indeed in development.”
Spotnitz says “A sequel to 'X-Files' has been in development for quite a while” but has no comment on Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny to join the project. "It's not anywhere near that level yet" says producer.
Although it’s known that thesps have both been keen on the idea in recent interviews.
