Waiting, based on Ha Jin's National Book Award-winning novel, is a long-gestating project for Peter Chan. Acclaimed helmer started to adapt the nove in 2001 but it necer ended!

After six years, today Ziyi Zhang and Takeshi Kaneshiro are in talks to topline the adaptation.

Story is about a doctor in China's Revolutionary Army, trapped in an arranged marriage, who falls in love with a nurse.
