Tony Scott will one more time direct Denzel Washington in the remake of The Taking of Pelham 1, 2, 3 for Columbia Pictures.
Penned by Spider-Man 4 scribe David Koepp, the story takes place in contemporary New York and is set in motion when four hijackers take over a subway train and hold the passengers for ransom.
Variety reports, Washington will take on the role of Zachary "Z" Garber, which was played by Walter Matthau in the original 1974 Joseph Sargent-helmed film.
Scott is planning to start filming in the first quarter of 2008.
