It was a big race for becoming first. Stomp the Yard and Night at the Museum remained atop the box office. Stomp the Yard made $13.3 million and followed by Night at the Museum with an estimated $13 million in its fifth weekend. The Ben Stiller-starrer has crossed the $200 million mark and is at $205.8 million, climbing to the 67th spot on the all-time domestic blockbuster list, says Coming Soon.net
Golden Globe’s fave Dreamgirls, went up a spot as expected, grossed $8.7 million in its sixth frame and upping cume to $78.1 million.
The only new wide release, The Hitcher opened to fourth place with $8.2 million.
It stil rounds out the top five. Will Smith’s The Pursuit of Happyness made $6.7 million. Big surprise for a pic budgeted at $55 million, making it $146.5 million in six weeks totally.
