Created by the late Vaugh Bode, the cult comic book series Cobalt 60’s film rights have been acquired by Universal Pictures, reports Variety.
300 helmer Zack Snyder will direct and also produce the planned film adaptation along with Debbie Snyder. The search for a screenwriter is currently underway.
Cobalt 60, first conceived in 1959, is set in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by mutants, aliens and other strange creatures. The story follows the mask-wearing titular hero on a quest to avenge his parents' death after their murder by the evil Strontium 90.
