Step by step to Oscars, guilds are giving their awards day by day. Variety reports, ACE Eddie Awards have been given on Sunday Night and Stephen Mirrione and Douglas Crise took best edited dramatic feature film award for Babel and shared the nod with Thelma Schoonmaker for The Departed.
Virginia Katz took the nod for comedy/musical for Dreamgirls.
The docu nod went to Jay Cassidy and Dan Swietlik for An Inconvenient Truth.
On the TV front, The Office editors Dean Holland and David Rogers took home the prize for best half-hour series. Cinematographers also gave their the 21st Annual American Society of Cinematographers' Outstanding Achievement Awards on Sunday night and honored Emmanuel Lubezki and Guillermo Navarro for Children of Men.
And art directors honored production designers Huo Tingxiao, Eugenio Cabellero and Peter Lamont with top prizes at 11th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards on Saturday night.
Pan’s Labyrinth’s Cabellero won in the fantasy category, while Tingxiao took home the period film prize for his work on The Curse of the Golden Flower. Lamont scored a win in the contemporary category for his work on Casino Royale.
