It was a great President's Day weekend for both Sony and Marvel. And also for Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes. Variety reports that Ghost Rider opens at No. 1 at the domestic Box Office with an estimated $44.5 million over the first three days.
Rider played 3,619 locations as the frame's widest new release. Pic stars Nicolas Cage as supernatural cyclist Johnny Blaze.
Disney's Bridge to Terabithia, landed in second place with $22 million.
And the pic is followed by Eddie Murphy-starrer and also last weekend’s topper Norbit. Norbit has grossed $16.8 million.
Warner Bros.' romantic comedy Music & Lyrics wrote up $14 million and Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls has landed in fifth place with $12 million.
