Helmer Claudio Assis' O baixio das bestas (Valley of the beasts) beats all alias and won five awards at the 39th Brasilia Film Festival, reports Variety.
The pic took prizes for feature, actress (Mariah Teixeira), supporting actor (Irandhir Santos), supporting actress (Dira Paes) and score. Valley, was also honored with the critics' award.
Carlos Cortez's Quero won prizes for actor (Maxwell Nascimento), scriptwriter (Cortez), art director (Fred Pinto) and sound (Louis Robin).
Helvecio Ratton's Batismo de sangue (Baptism of Blood) received the award for director and cinematographer (Lauro Escorel).
